Literary Criticism

Literary criticism can be a useful for any writer that would want to strengthen their writing skills. Literary criticism is basically when someone other than the writer reads the work of someone else and gives their input and opinion on it. They tend to analyze the good and the bad in the writing according to their own opinions. the purpose of literary criticism is to help the writer actually become a better writer by pointing out and critiquing their strengths and weaknesses. in my opinion if i were to write something and someone revises it and points out to me my strengths and weaknesses all it would make me do is try my best to do it over so it can be much better. Although some writers may view literary criticism in a negative aspect, what they fail to realize is that it is actually a useful tool for writers who thinks there is always room for improvement in their writing.

For example, one of my favorite books is called PUSH by Sapphire. The book is about a young girl named Precious Jones that was raped by her father and had his child at the age of 12 and then at the age of 16. she suffered abuse from both of her parents. many people many think that this book was to graphic but in my opinion it was well written and may have even touched some of the people that read it because they might even be able to relate to what she is going through because it may even be happening to them. This book is the best book i have ever read thus far and by far the saddest. this book has and will liberate people to keep pushing themselves out of their oppression.

As Wolfe describes the rap song he was hearing and his point of view on it, he makes you think of how some rap songs are now and days and how closely they may relate to the one he writes about. As Wolfe wrote, "HOW'M I SPOSE S LOVE HER, CATCH HER MACKIN' WITH THE BROTHERS? sang or chanted, or recited, or whatever were supposed to call it, the guttural voice of a rap artist names Doctor Rammer Doc Doc, if i wasn't utterly ridiculous to call him an artist. RAM YO' BOOTY! RAM YO' BOOTY! Sang the chorus, which sounded like a group of sex crazed crack fiends." (Wolfe 16)

Aldous Huxley, the chemical vacationer

Aldous Huxley was a well known write that was often misunderstood because of his drug usage. In Huxley's writing " The doors of precipitation," he spoke about hallucinations because of the usage of drugs. One specific drug he spoke about was Mescaline. Mescaline is an alkaloid drug that produces hallucinations. Huxley was misunderstood because he believed that the usage of drugs enlightened his mind, made him more creative, and gave him a different view on life. Huxley also believed that every so often people should go on a "chemical vacation". Although i did not agree with him, he strongly supported his belief and may even persuade people to go on " chemical vacations" because as per Huxley it would basically help them connect with their inner selves.

Beets are healthy

Beets are high in folate, a type of B vitamin. Beets were chosen for this experiment because it helps with natural tissue growth, which is especially beneficial to children and pregnant women. Three pregnant woman and three kids were chosen for the experiment. They were put to eat beets one time a day for six months. once the six months were over, each person was evaluated and we concluded that by them eating beets once a day for six months it increased their amount of natural tissue growth because beets are high in Folate, which is a type of vitamin B.

Cubism in my eyes

I can not stress the fact that cubism is the most interesting and important style of art. Although it has been neglected for so many years it has it's own importance. Throughout history cubism has been misunerstood because it was misrepresendted so no one really knew what it really was. The art of cubism is very important because it takes one suject and breaks it up to be analyzed and then reassembled in an abstracted form. Now doesn't that sound like an important form of art that should never have been neglected? When people spoke and wrote about cubism they made it seem like it was art that wasn't important and had no meaning, but now that i have told you something about it don't neglect it and spread the word. CUBISM IS IMPORTANT!!
